Capilla del Monte: The Alien City in Argentina
You’ve probably never heard of this place, but it’s well known in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.
If you’re a fan of aliens and enjoy all the conspiracy and spiritual theories, this is a city you’ll absolutely love. It’s also a place where incredible and unbelievable things are said to have happened.
Here are 5 fascinating facts about Capilla del Monte that will blow your mind:
Uritorco Hill, the Alien Mountain
At this hill, there are numerous videos recorded by people claiming they’ve seen spaceships flying near the mountain’s peak. The buzz has been so intense that many believe the hill is a magical place with healing energy — something so powerful even aliens can’t resist.
One curious fact about this hill is that it’s made of quartz. The mountain is full of it, which supports the idea that it stores some kind of energy. Many people go camping there, and some say that at night, under a full moon and with certain astrological effects, you can see a glowing blue quartz city. This city, they say, only appears under those special conditions.
So far, all this information remains part of local myths and urban legends, which you can explore for yourself if you decide to visit this magical mountain.
Another interesting detail is that the hill is private property. That’s right — it belongs to a woman named Sonia Anchorena. To hike the Uritorco, you have to pay an entrance fee. Her estate includes 900 hectares and the 1,890-meter-high hill, the tallest peak of the Sierras Chicas.

You Can Get a Photo of Your Aura
The aura, for those unfamiliar, is said to be the energy that radiates from your soul. According to your spiritual evolution and physical condition, your aura has a certain color and strength. Based on its color, specialists can say whether you’re an old soul, if you’re physically healthy, or which areas of your life or body you need to work on.
While it may sound wild to some, others book appointments in advance to have these photos taken.
The process involves photographing your thumb with a special camera that will show all the details of your aura. A specialist will interpret it, and you can get the results almost instantly — definitely an extravagant and interesting experience to have if you visit Capilla del Monte.

Kropp, the Prophet Who Promised to Cure Cancer
In Capilla del Monte, you’ll still hear about the famous prophet “Kropp” (Néstor Corsi), who created a spiritual center called El Pozo de Luz (The Well of Light). There, he promised to cure cancer with a vaccine he developed himself, made from ant venom. His patients abandoned their cancer treatments, and some died. He was charged with fraud and practicing medicine illegally.
At El Pozo de Luz, Corsi claimed to cure cancer. Or at least, that’s what he promised his followers. To be “healed,” they had to stop their oncological treatments and follow a lemon and potassium-based diet. They also had to inject themselves with vials of his self-made vaccine, CNS-629, whose main ingredient was formic acid (red ant venom). Some of his patients died during the process. For selling these vaccines, Corsi was sent to prison in February 2012, charged with illegal medical practice and repeated fraud in 18 cases. The cancer vaccine was produced in a clandestine lab in Buenos Aires, where his accomplice Gustavo Raith was arrested and later tried in 2014.

You’ll Find Many Spiritual Camps and Shamans
Due to the area’s spiritual fame, many property owners organize multi-day events or camps focused on meditation, vegetarian food, and connecting with nature. If you’re into spiritual retreats, you’ll find plenty of options here — including meditating in the mountains, hugging trees, touching the earth with your hands, chakra-opening sessions, aura readings, and other fascinating activities.
Additionally, many shamans operate in the area. Shamans are considered spiritual doctors who, through rituals and ceremonies, claim to heal various illnesses or emotional wounds. Whether you’re a believer or simply curious, witnessing or participating in a shamanic ritual can be a powerful and unique experience during your visit to Capilla del Monte.

Alien Decorations All Around the City
All around town, you’ll see alien figurines sitting on benches, aliens walking, aliens peeking out from windows, and more. Aliens are everywhere — making it a super fun place to take photos and enjoy all the city’s mythological stories.
