Countries Where It’s Always Summer – Your Perfect Off-Season Escape 🌞✈️

Let’s face it—traveling only during summer isn’t always ideal. Prices skyrocket, tourist spots are packed, or maybe your job keeps you extra busy right when the sun comes out. But hey, if you love traveling and sunshine is your love language, I’ve got just the list for you!

Here are some countries where it’s basically summer all year long. Perfect for a quick escape during the off-season, and yes—you can finally pack those swimsuits in December.
Since many of you reading are from the UK, I’ll start with two sunny European destinations close to home. And if you’re up for a bigger adventure, I’ve also included three dreamy spots in Latin America that are totally worth the flight. ☀️🌴

Let’s go from the least warm to the most sizzling…

Rank number five
Europe: Malta (9°C / 16°C)

Malta’s probably already on your summer radar—but don’t sleep on it in winter! Even in December through February, temperatures range from 9°C at night to 16°C during the day. While your hometown might be freezing and you’re buried under three blankets, in Malta, you’ll be walking along sunny beaches in light spring clothes.
And the best part? Winter travel = cheaper travel. Yes, please!

Rank number four
Europe: Canary Islands (15°C / 22°C)

Welcome to Europe’s not-so-secret sunshine hack! The Canary Islands enjoy 15°C to 30°C year-round. Rain is rare (though it can be a bit breezy). If you visit in December or January—when the UK might hit -5°C—you can still enjoy balmy evenings at 16°C and daytime highs of 22°C. Honestly, that is summer by British and Irish standards.
I’m based in Northern Ireland, and let me tell you… 20°C is a heatwave here. So yes, the Canaries are a tropical dream in comparison.

Rank number three
Latin America: Costa Rica (18°C / 27°C)

Now let’s hop across the ocean! Costa Rica is a tropical paradise with more “European-friendly” heat. No need to melt the moment you step outside. Across the country, temps usually stay between 22°C and 27°C.
Thanks to its location near the equator, Costa Rica doesn’t have your typical four seasons. Instead, it’s all about:

Dry Season (Dec–May) – AKA “summer”, perfect for beaches, national parks, and outdoor adventures.

Rainy Season (May–Nov) – Also called “winter”, with lush greenery and dramatic rainforests.

Fun fact: The coolest temps (around 18°C) usually pop up right at the start of the dry season. Still sounds like paradise, right?

Rank number two
Latin America: Guyana (22°C / 30°C)

This tiny, often-overlooked gem stays between 22°C and 30°C all year. During “winter” months, you’re looking at a cozy 22°C to 25°C—ideal for anyone chasing sunshine but not a full-on heatwave.
Bonus? Guyana is the only English-speaking country in South America, which makes it super appealing for UK travelers! Its beaches are stunning, and the vibe is wonderfully off-the-beaten-path.
Guyana has two main seasons:

Rainy Season (May–Aug)

Dry Season (Sept–Apr) – Best time to visit! Less rain, more exploring.

Rank number one
Latin America: Venezuela (24°C / 33°C)

Now for one of the hottest destinations on the list: Venezuela. It’s summer here. Always. Seriously.

Temperatures hover between 24°C and 33°C all year long, with very little variation. This country is basically living in an eternal vacation mood.

With jaw-dropping beaches and very affordable travel costs, Venezuela is a tropical gem that deserves way more love on your bucket list!
