While it\u2019s well-known among locals, it\u2019s still kind of a hidden treasure in the grand European travel scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s why you should definitely add it to your travel list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size\"><strong>1. That\u2019s not the case here! Albufeira has its own airport, and you can get to the Old Town in just 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hot tip: Book a private ride on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/booking.com\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"booking.com\">Booking.com<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s affordable, super easy, and you can skip the stress of figuring out public transport after a long flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>2. It\u2019s Easy and Cheap to Rent a Place<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tripialist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20220831_201815.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1263\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I always recommend booking at least a month in advance to get the best deals \u2014 but even last-minute, there are great options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We rented a fully furnished apartment for two, with a queen bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, patio, A\/C, Netflix, <em>the works<\/em>, for only <strong>\u00a3591 for seven nights<\/strong>. And there were tons of similar listings nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sure, you can find even cheaper places (some with pools!), <strong>but check the location<\/strong> \u2014 a lot of those were out in the hills and needed a car. If you want a peaceful family getaway, they\u2019re perfect &#8211; <strong>but for walking to the beach or town, stay central<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>3. You\u2019ve got everything from late-night foot massages and clothing stores open \u2018til 11 p.m. to seafood restaurants, grills, and nightclubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best part? <strong>Nothing was ever overcrowded<\/strong>, and the prices were amazing. We\u2019d eat a full dinner for two for around <strong>\u00a325 total<\/strong> \u2014 yes, total! And many clubs didn\u2019t even charge entry, so you could just walk in and dance the night away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>4. Some vendors passed by selling water or ice cream, but no one was pushy. It felt <strong>super safe and peaceful<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thing to know: the water in southern Portugal is <strong>pretty cold<\/strong>, even in summer. But hey, with 35\u00b0C heat, that icy dip might be exactly what you need!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sandy beaches, clean water, and no weird ocean critters crawling at your feet? Yes, please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>5. A <strong>dinner cruise<\/strong> with included drinks. We cruised along the coast, explored secret caves, and then had a BBQ on a private beach surrounded by cliffs. There was a DJ, great vibes, and even small boats that picked us up at midnight to continue the party back on the main boat until we docked again in Albufeira. <strong>Highly recommend!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another must-try: a <strong>kayak tour<\/strong> along the coast.
