5 Activities You Can Enjoy on a Paris Getaway Without Breaking the Bank

If you’re planning a trip to Paris, I highly recommend going during the off-season. You’ll find the same activities as in summer—minus the crowds. Personally, I think Paris is even more beautiful in autumn, winter, or spring. Summer? Not so much. It’s hot, overcrowded, and the beaches are far from the city.

In the colder months, Paris has a quieter, more intimate vibe—perfect if you’re traveling with a partner.

Of course, there are tons of things to do in Paris, but some great alternatives give you similar experiences to the big-ticket attractions, without the hefty price tag.

Everyone says Paris is super expensive, but honestly, I disagree. It’s a huge city with tons of options to fit all kinds of budgets. So if you want a little getaway that won’t ruin your finances, here are some activities to consider:

1. Cabaret

I know many of you are dreaming of going to the famous **Moulin Rouge**, and hey—if you’ve got the budget, go for it! But if not, there are other cabarets that offer a fantastic show (sometimes with a little extra, like a glass of champagne) for a much more reasonable price.

Right now, there’s a great deal on TripAdvisor for**Paradis Latin Paris Cabaret**—for about €89, you can enjoy a nearly four-hour show plus a glass of bubbly. The vibe is amazing, with professional photographers walking around and incredibly talented performers. You’ll get that mix of humor and just the right touch of risqué fun, all in one memorable experience. Drinks are available too if you’re in the mood. This was hands down one of my favorite activities, and way more affordable than the traditional Moulin Rouge.

2. Seine River Cruise

There are a million cruise options on the Seine, but it’s all about finding the right one—good reviews, good value. One I loved was the **Paris Seine River Dinner Cruise with Rooftop**. It was magical: a three-course meal (which was more than enough for me and my partner), a drink, and live music under candlelight in both French and English. Totally romantic.

You can also go up to the rooftop deck and see Paris lit up at night—something you definitely don’t want to miss. It’s a newer cruise with a cozy group size, especially if you’re going in the off-season. Yet another reason to visit in winter!

3. The Louvre

Of course, you can’t skip the **Louvre**. The art collection is amazing and goes way beyond just paintings—there’s something for every art lover. It’s impossible to see it all in one day; you’d probably need at least three full days if you’re really into art. But even if you’re short on time, pick a few sections you love and enjoy some truly unique and historical masterpieces.

Tickets are pretty affordable at around **€22 per day**, and there’s a nice café inside where you can rest and grab a snack.

4. Hot Air Balloon Ride

Hot Air Balloon Ride might sound a bit extravagant, but trust me—it’s totally worth it! And it’s not even that expensive: just **€20** for a stunning view of Paris from the sky. It’s a daytime activity and can be cancelled if the weather is bad, so try to avoid rainy season if possible. The reviews are great and, best of all, you don’t need to book in advance—just show up and go!

5. Visit the Eiffel Tower

You don’t need to go all out to enjoy the Eiffel Tower. Sometimes, **simplicity is the real adventure**. Walking around the base, enjoying a fresh crepe—these are the kind of moments that only Paris can offer.

Sure, you can buy tickets to go up the tower (if you book far in advance), but those views will cost you over **€40**, and I’m not sure it’s worth it. Personally, I’d rather spend that money on four crepes and soak in the view from the ground.

The surrounding park is full of street vendors selling everything from snacks to drawings of you and your partner, little souvenirs, clothes—you name it. It’s a place that absolutely deserves a visit.
